What does Alena think of Snake, anyway? :3

Alena's idea of a 'soldier' is completely different from Snake's. When Alena heard Snake describe himself as a 'soldier', she immediately thought: "OH, he's some loyal knight of a kingdom and he's worried about what must be happening there without him." That is, Alena thought Snake was a little weird when they first met because he seemed distant and had weird thought processes/priorities, but then when he said "I'm a soldier," she reacted with: "Oh, that explains why he's weird." The reasons behind this are:
1. Alena's royalty and most of the soldiers she's known have been guards or incredibly devoted knights who have been stationed in the distant outskirts of the Kingdom where not a lot of people go, let alone live.
2. One of Alena's chief traveling companions (named Ragnar) is another incredibly devoted knight who started a solo journey far away from his homeland (to search for the fabled hero/ine) for no real reason other than he thought it was his duty. Alena values her personal freedom, and so probably couldn't see herself doing that, but respects the dedication.
So, Alena associated Snake's description of himself with that. Maybe it's not too far off in the long run?

But Alena likes talking with him and thinks he's a good Knight to know. It's good to have an experienced fighter to spar with. :|b

Reverse?

I have to admit that Snake doesn't really have much of a concept of her yet beyond "little girl who makes for a good fight." XD But she is awesome at fighting, so A++ will tangle with again.

Are there any major differences between Alena in aather and Alena in canon?

Personality-wise, not too much. The differences aren't with Alena herself so much as what she deals with on a day to day basis. Probably the biggest difference between Alena in canon and Alena in aather is that Alena in Aather doesn't need to carry her issues around and is free to just participate in adventure after adventure. That and the fact she can spin them to be a positive or inspiring thing. ("Hey you think you have unsolvable problems? You just need to kick them down!")
The second biggest difference from Aather and her canon is that in canon, there's not a lot of moral/ethical dilemmas. Whereas in Aather that sort of thing happens every third game. |D

So in summary: Alena's personality is very similar to her canon's, but here she's dealing with separate issues and so different sides of her personality that normally don't come out can come out.

Also! What does Snake think about being a knight, instead of a 'hero'? Is there any feeling of superiority, or...

To Snake, the difference between 'hero' and 'knight' is the difference between co-ops and solo operation. Heroes operate as a unit to win games and keep their unit together and in good shape. Knights have an easier time procuring the equipment they need, but they operate independently to achieve their own goals -- for most of them, that appears to be supporting the heroes in their own ways.

So he does feel there's more responsibility in being a knight, and less of a safety net, but he doesn't believe being a knight makes him superior or puts him in a position of authority over others. It's just different mission styles. :U

Hypothetically if Big Boss recruited Alena, what would be her Codec conversation themes? |D

That's a really good question... I think she'd be the type to offer random survivalist techniques that may or may not be related to actual gameplay issues, or how best to take down enemies/bosses with only bare-handed combat or melee weapons. If called enough she'd probably eventually start talking about how being royalty sucks.

Hey Kit!

Kit is one of Alena's bestest buddies because... well, just because! He puts her in a good mood and she has fun doing things or just talking with him. She also really trusts him.

Kit is probably the best of Alena's friends who she doesn't also spar with. Probably the only one who she doesn't have an urge to be competitive with. This is because Kit's demonstrated that he does have a certain set of skills mastered (magic-illusion/trickery stuff), and that just puts him on a separate level from her skills and abilities; competing together would be counter-productive. (Like if a marathon runner really wanted to challenge and compete against a sharpshooter... it just doesn't work.)

If Alena was organizing an RPG party (though less 4th-wall breaking-sounding) she would want Kit in it so he could be the party thief.

Reverse?

Alena is one of Kit's closest off-team friends! He is very, very fond of her (just as fond as he is of his teammates, really) and he trusts her probably the most out of practically anyone here. He knows she can defend herself (and him!), and that she's very capable... so while he'd be stupidly reckless to protect her like he is with his teammates, there's also a level of "I KNOW YOU CAN HANDLE WHAT I CAN HANDLE" there. He's less likely to be reckless to save her because of this.

She's also cheery, upbeat, and energetic, which really matches his own personality very well! He really enjoys spending time with her and bantering with her, and it's to the point of where he'd actually trust her with deeper, more personal things if they ever came up because of it. Also although she challenged him to a fight earlier on and he passed, he is kind of... taking it upon himself to learn how to fight now! He's learning from Allen, but once he gets a few basic skills down it's likely he'll go to Alena for practice :|b

IF KIT WERE FORMING AN RPG PARTY ALENA WOULD BE ON THERE TOO. :(b No adventuring without his favorite cape-wearing adventurer.

What does Alena think of her team? :O

Alena sees Carnelian as a sort of highly individualized group. Carnelian's lucky if they can agree on what to eat for breakfast. So everyone's following their own personal interpretations of everything that goes on. Sorta like a team of musicians who get together and they all just play whatever song they want. Which is fine. The only thing Alena doesn't like is if someone tries to claim there's a leader of Carnelian. "No one is Emperor of Carnelian," so Alena says.

Did Kit have any reservations or shock on finding out he was a thief, or did he always know or just sorta take it in stride?
