おてんば姫の歌♪

So one of the things that reminded me of DQIV and that Alena would be playable was when I stumbled across this video. If you like singing robots then you probably know this song already, but did you know it's about Alena?

Youtube video right here!

Or watch the original video on niconico.

It's pretty easy to follow with the cute cartoon drawing, but here's the lyrics translated anyway.

The Song of the Tomboy Princess ♪

Once upon a time, there was a Tomboy Princess.
She was wild like a horse, the Tomboy Princess.
She wanted to leave the castle and test her strength.
But the Old Man was always keeping an eye on her.

Her studies were always so...
Sooo boring! Sooo uninteresting!
She would fall asleep and make her tutor mad!

Suddenly, she got fed up, the Tomboy Princess.
She threw up her desk, her chair, and the carpet!
She took off running, the Tomboy Princess.
Her little legs were too fast for a normal person to keep up.

But eventually she was caught.
She was nagged to death, the Old Man was so mad.
She couldn't take living like this anymore.

"Since I was born, I carried this burden,"
"Of being the 'Princess'."
"I want to test my strength!"
"How far could it take me?"

One day, the Tomboy Princess.
She went to her bedroom and kicked the wall right down.
She could now go outside.
So she steaaalthily sneaked out!

From here it begins.
Her big journey! Her big journey!
"Will I be able to meet the new me?"

"Since I was born, I carried this burden,"
"No matter what happens now, I'm leaving on my journey."
"I want to test my strength!"
"How far could it take me?"

From here it begins.
Her big journey! Her big journey!
But... that's another story!
